Karate is now predominately a striking art using punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes and open hand. Traditional Karate focuses on KATA (pre-arranged sequences of movements) and techniques training. Students of Karate wear a GI (uniform). Belts are awarded as the student masters each level of training. Sensei Ali and staff teach a form of Karate that combines exercise and the Oknawan Shind-Ryu Karate style. This method emphasizes KATA practice, strong linear offensive techniques and soft circular defensive techniques. |
